Kids Books You Won’t Mind Reading Over and Over
…..and Over
Seriously, who thinks of half this stuff? You moms out there… you know what I’m talking about.
Your kid gets hooked on one book, and one book only. You’re reading it when they wake up, before their nap, before bed, and for days, maybe even weeks at a time.
Most of them are complete shit. Let’s be honest. These books with the weird pictures and even weirder concepts and annoying repetitive words. UGH! (sorry, Lily. But Lama Lama Red Pajama is a whiny little brat)
ENTER: Oliver Jeffers. Author/Artist/Lifesaver
Seriously. His books are fantastic. They’re great for kids – with super unique drawings and ADORABLE concepts. And Funny!
He’s definitely good at targeting the parents… you know, the ones who have to actually read the book. The things he comes up with are borderline ridiculous in the best, cutest, most subtle way.
No annoying sounds to act out. Nothing repetitive. And actually, quite smart. “The Great Paper Caper” is THANKFULLY one of Lily’s favourite books. A “suspense” book for kids? Too effing cute.
Most of these have been gifted to us, and now we’re HOOKED. I’m pretty sure we have almost all of them. We’re always keeping our eye out for more.
The one’s I featured here are:
The Great Paper Caper
Stuck
How to Catch a Star (How cute is that name?)
Fellow Yukoner’s, The Collective Good carries some of his books. I’m always finding really great ones there!
