Junk Food for When You’re Eating Clean
We can’t eat 100% clean 100% of the time. That’s just unrealistic.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…. restricting ourselves does more harm to our bodies than allowing our vices here and there.
Another thing I’ve preached to you guys over and over: If you have certain cravings or things you can’t go without… just try to indulge in the healthiest way possible. MY MAIN THING: Quality ingredients. And FEW ingredients.
This can make all the difference in how you feel after you’ve had your little snack. It’s one thing to allow yourself a little chocolate or salt… it’s another to load your body with unnecessary chemicals and overly processed foods.
THE SALT TOOTH
BOOM CHICKA POP – With a name and branding like that… thank god it’s also yummy and guilt free. Seriously, how cute is the packaging? All the flavours of popcorn come in adorable pastel coloured bags. I love the SWEET & SALTY
Any air popped popcorn is very very low in calories… but if you don’t have an air-popper or are just looking for something to grab and go… THIS stuff is the real deal.
There’s only 4 ingredients (popcorn, cane sugar, sunflower oil and sea salt) and 70 calories a cup. And gluten free for anyone out there who’s gotta avoid gluten.
QUE PASA TORTILLA CHIPS – SO. FREAKING. YUM. I love love love the chia quinoa ones. There’s also this Chipotle Kale one thats got a little spice to it… nom! Again, few and real ingredients, and you’re still fixing that salt craving. AND another gluten free option 🙂
PERK: They’re actually quite filling. Â You know when you open the bag of chips and zone out on a movie… and before you know it… or maybe even before the plot twist…. you’ve dummied the whole bag? (I know I’m not the only one)… these are actually filling.
I’m not saying I’ve never eating the whole bag in one sitting… I’m just saying I only do so on a rather empty stomach…
THE SWEET TOOTH
CHIMES – Ginger chews. oh my god. I got these once for an upset stomach and now I’m addicted. The ginger originals are amazing. Gingery and spicy.
But now I’m ADDICTED to the peanut butter flavour.
Peanut butter. Wrapped in a little package. A small chewy peanut buttery treat. YES.
There’s 3 ingredients and they’re gluten free AND vegan.
I’m not the biggest sweets person so these really hit the spot for me. I mean, I’ll grab like a handful… but still. Have one or two and it’ll really help that sweet craving.

FOR THE BUZZ TOOTH
Kombucha – I love to sip on a glass of wine at night while I’m watching Real Housewives but lately I’ve really been trying to cut back… or completely cut it out for the time being. Sipping on something like tea just isn’t always the same (for obvious reasons) but mostly because it gets cold if you’re taking your time and that’s annoying
I’ve been loving sipping on a kombucha in the evenings. Â Because of their strong flavour, they’re very “sip-able” and not something that’s going to be gone in no time. And there’s SO many flavours out there. They’re naturally carbonated too. I’m not a soda drinker so these are a great alternative.
ALSO health benefits. I love a “treat” with a good health benefit.
Just watch out for sugar content. I love the GTS brand because the sugar is very low. Some brands will add more sugar so just check the ingredients before you buy.
The best thing about all of these is that there’s no preparation! There’s no heating up the popcorn or anything like that. Great for summer if you’re heading to the beach or going camping.
