A Luxurious DIY Spa Night with Bring Your Own Kombucha
I’m sitting down to write this just as I can really really really use a little spa night. Like, NEED a spa night. This one in particular.
For 6 weekends in a row now, I have been away from home. If any of you reading this are home bodies like me, you know exactly how tough this is! Not to complain though, because every weekends I’ve been away have been for wonderful reasons and I’ve enjoyed every moment of it. I just could use a little rosé, some pampering, and a nap. Ya know?
As many of you probably know, I’ve done a little work with Erica from Bring Your Own Kombucha. She helped us all out in the January Wellness Challenge, she now helps me run the Wellness & Wine Facebook group (or, this month, she’s basically running it by herself really. Thanks Erica!), she interviewed me on her podcast, I interviewed her on the blog… she’s incredible! Really incredible.
Here’s what I love about this girl. To start, she’s a fucking hustler. A wife, mom to be, attorney, blogger, podcaster, and she even collaborated on a book. Who the fuck has time? WE ALL APPARENTLY HAVE TIME! And the other thing I love: She knows her shit. Bring Your Own Kombucha is all about living a non-toxic life. So Erica really does her research when talking about products and digs deep when interviewing the people she has on her blog.
So when I recently received the BYOK Box (oh shit, did I not mention? She also has a subscription box) I knew I could trust the products I was getting.
And of course, I loved them all. And together, they make the perfect little mini spa night. Because they are all non-toxic, beautiful products, I just had to share.
Pour yourself a glass of wine…
Multitasking is my super power. I can’t just sit and wait for something. Yes, even when I’m relaxing. Naturally, I poured myself a fat glass of cab before running the bath. While I wait for the tub to fill up, I dry brush. I love this charcoal infused one I found at Winners, but I couldn’t find it online so after a little digging, I found this one that’s highly rated on Amazon.
Next steps!
Remove that makeup! The shea butter makeup remover by Lotus Soap Shop feels so luxurious. I typically use oils to remove my makeup because I find they not only hydrate my skin, but also reduces all that tugging you get with the whole makeup-remover-on-a-cotton-pad situation. And this one is just perfect! Buttery and soft and gets the job done quickly!
Then to remove any excess luxurious buttery feeling (because I get oily skin) I used the powder cleanser from Tanna Beauty. This stuff is brilliant. (And perfect if you’re travelling!) It has kind of a soothing oatmeal smell to it.
I’m really focused on buffing my skin. So after dry brushing, I now want to scrub too. I like intense! This body scrub from SOS Skin Nourishment Co is the exact consistency I like. Scrub a dub! Oh! And the smell is so pretty!
Now all the beauty work is done and it’s time to relax. Seriously…. you know how much work it is to scrub, right?
Put on your favourite brightening mask, lay back, relax, and sip on that wine!
